| Earlier this afternoon, the Michigan Ice Dogs (in dark colored uniform) defeated the Bloomington Jr. Blaze (in white) 8-2. |
The Michigan Ice Dogs defended their home ice this afternoon at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The Ice Dogs scored six unanswered goals, and defeated the Bloomington Jr. Blaze 8-2. Both teams compete in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), along with six other local area teams. #19 Adam Stadler (from Livonia, Michigan) scored two goals for the Ice Dogs, while #35 Jacob Dugan (from Canton, Michigan) made 28 saves in net. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of the first period, but the Michigan Ice Dogs controlled the tempo throughout the final two periods. The MWJHL regular season is winding down, and the Ice Dogs have just one game remaining on their schedule. They will host the Berkley Bruins on March 8th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
The Michigan Ice Dogs are currently in 6th place in the MWJHL standings with 21 points, and an overall record of 9-31. The Bloomington Jr. Blaze are currently in 5th place in the MWJHL standings with 31 points, and an overall record of 15-24. The Jr. Blaze will play their final three regular season games on the road, against the Berkley Bruins.
