Pothole Or Missing Road?

This large pothole near the corner of 8 Mile Road, and Farmington Road, has drivers swerving away from the danger! 

     The Mitten State Sports Report has attended several games recently, in an effort to sustain views to this website.  One obstacle that continues to challenge this effort has been the troublesome pothole situation throughout Southeast Michigan.  Avoiding the potholes has become almost impossible, and some local area roads are in such poor condition, that it's better to avoid them all together.  The potholes in some areas are so bad, that there are actually people waiting off to the side of the road, to assist drivers with flat tires.  Most of the worst areas are not blocked off, and as a result, many drivers are paying the price.
     According to government immunity laws, the state of Michigan must know about a pothole problem for 30 days, and fail to do anything about it, before they can be held liable.  In the state of Michigan, the only assistance that drivers with damaged vehicles can find is through their insurance company.  This is a tough pill to swallow for drivers that have received severe damage to their vehicles, as a result of damaged roads.  The drastic temperature changes during the last month, have only added to the pothole problem in Michigan.
     It's hard to avoid the potholes when your driving behind someone, or when you approach one quickly while driving on the freeway.  Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a puddle of water, and a pothole, or even a sheet of black ice when it's dark out.
