Octopi Will Fly!

The Detroit Red Wings must win today in Boston to force a game 6 at Joe Louis Arena!

I have always considered myself to be a huge fan of rock 'n' roll music.  Combine that with my love for sports, and my appreciation for the Detroit Red Wings, and you would come up with a catchy, popular, and trendy tune that would instantly appeal to the public, right?  Well, that's not always the case!  The other day I listened to a new song called "Octopi Will Fly", and I could not make it through the entire song.  Certain things on the internet have the ability to make me laugh hysterically.  Eddie Murphy impersonating his brother Charlie comes to mind, and now the song "Octopi Will Fly" has been added to the list.  Listen, I'm not here to hate on anybody, and there may be lots of people out there that dig the new tune.  The song does have a catchy hook (Octopi Will Fly) so make sure to check it out for yourself.  "Octopi Will Fly" has received 2,500 views on You Tube in the last three days alone, and momentum for the song could build if the Red Wings can make some noise in this years NHL (National Hockey League) Playoffs.
"Octopi Will Fly" is performed by a 4 member band from Lexington, Kentucky known as Suitcase To Vegas (S2V).  The song was co-written by Keith Laurin, and it was recorded by Jettlane Productions.  Jarrett Ivy, Reed Spring, T-Bone Troxell, and Jass on Bass make up the group, but if you're looking to see the band perform live, then you may have to travel down to Kentucky.  Suitcase To Vegas has upcoming shows scheduled for May 3rd, in Keene, May 10th, in Lexington, and on June 7th, in Lexington.  Click on the links below for more information about the Detroit Red Wings, Jettlane Productions, or Suitcase To Vegas.  You can always leave a comment, and you can email the Mitten State Sports Report directly at mittenstatesportsreport@rocketmail.com  Click on past months to check out all of the Mitten State Sports Report's archived material!
