New Lights At Comerica Park

Comerica Park is in the process of upgrading its old lights with new LED lights.  The old lights were removed on Monday, December 12th, and the new LED lights are scheduled to be installed in February of 2023.  The new LED lights are expected to conserve energy and cause less glare for the players.  The new LED lights are also projected to look better on television and can be used for light shows when the Detroit Tigers hit a home run.  The new LED lights can also turn on and off instantly unlike the old lights that needed time to warm up.

The Detroit Tigers will begin the 2023 season on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, March 30th.  The Tigers Home Opener is scheduled for Thursday, April 6th against the Boston Red Sox.  The first home night game of the season is scheduled for Friday, April 14th against the San Francisco Giants.  The Detroit Tigers finished the 2022 season in 4th place in the AL Central standings with an overall record of 66-96.
