There's a pretty good video on the NHL (National Hockey League) YouTube channel called "Hockey Island: Martha's Vineyard". The seventeen-minute-long video follows a high school hockey team in Massachusetts known as the Martha's Vineyard Vineyarders. The video talks about the successful history of the hockey program and shares why the sport is so important to the people of the island. The short film also shows the team traveling by boat to play an away game and talks about how the people of the island are sometimes misunderstood.
The Martha's Vineyard boy's hockey team is a Division 4 program, and the Vineyarders compete in the Cape & Islands League. The Vineyarders are currently in 5th place in the Division 4 standings with 18 points, and an overall record of 9-3. The Vineyarders are currently riding a nine-game winning streak.
