Packers College Connection




     The Green Bay Packers (8-8) are scheduled to host the Detroit Lions (8-8) tonight on Sunday Night Football beginning at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.  The Green Bay Packers roster currently features one player that played college football in the state of Michigan.

     Green Bay Packers Guard #76 Jon Runyan Jr. played college football at the University of Michigan from 2015-2019.  The Green Bay Packers selected Jon Runyan Jr. in the 6th round (192nd overall pick) of the 2020 NFL (National Football League) Draft.  Jon Runyan Jr. has played in every NFL game since being drafted.

     Jon Runyan's father Jon Runyan Sr. also played college football for the University of Michigan from 1992-1995.  The Houston Oilers (Tennessee Titans) selected John Runyan Sr. in the 4th round (109th overall pick) of the 1996 NFL Draft.  John Runyan Sr. played fourteen seasons in the NFL before serving in the United States Congress.
