College Baseball: UofM vs. ND





On Wednesday night, the University of Michigan baseball team hosted University of Notre Dame!





The game was played at Ray Fisher Stadium in Arbor.  Ray Fisher Stadium is located inside the Wilpon Complex.





The game started at 7:00 p.m., and the temperature was 58 degrees for the opening pitch!  





The University of Notre Dame has struggled in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  The Fighting Irish are 1-14 in the ACC.





#25 Johnny Slater steps to the plate!  Slater is an outfielder playing in his freshman season for the Wolverines!





The Wolverines currently have a 4-5 record in the Big 10 Conference.





#22 Kevin White is an outfielder playing in his junior season with the Wolverines.  White can also fill in as a catcher.

College Baseball: ND 9 - UofM 1





On Wednesday night, the University of Notre Dame baseball team defeated University of Michigan 9-1.








     The University of Notre Dame baseball team visited the Wilpon Complex on Wednesday night for baseball under the lights.  Ray Fisher Stadium is home to the University of Michigan Wolverines baseball team, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame came into Ann Arbor as a rival of the Wolverines, even though the schools compete in separate conferences.  The game started at 7:00 p.m., and the temperature was 58 degrees for the opening pitch.
     Notre Dame scored 1 run in the second inning, and then added 3 more runs in the third inning.  The Wolverines scored 1 run in the bottom of the fourth inning, but it was their only run of the evening. The Fighting Irish struck again in the top of the fifth inning scoring 2 more runs, and built a 6-1 lead in the process.  Notre Dame added 3 more runs in the top of the eighth inning to secure the 9-1 victory over University of Michigan. The Wolverines were held to just 4 hits, and the defense accumulated 6 errors.  The Fighting Irish had 11 hits, and made just 1 error.

UofM vs. Notre Dame Diamond Edition!





Michigan celebrates the 8-2 victory over the Fighting Irish!











     Last Tuesday the University of Notre Dame visited the Wilpon Complex in Ann Arbor for a non conference showdown against the Michigan Wolverines.  The Wolverines came into the game with a 20-14 record while riding a 9 game winning streak.  Notre Dame rolled into Ann Arbor on a 5 game loosing streak with an overall record of 19-14.  The temperature was 60 degrees but chilly, and almost every fan was dressed in winter coats.  The Wolverines received an incredible pitching performance from sophmore James Bourque, who spent is high school years playing ball at Ann Arbor Huron.  Bourque took a no hitter into the eighth inning before Notre Dame's Lane Richards broke up the campaign with a single to right.  Michigan scored 3 runs in the sixth inning, and added three more in the seventh.  Junior pitcher and Grand Rapids native Alex Lakatos pitched the ninth for the Wolverines allowing two runs in the 8-2 victory for Michigan.  The Wolverines return home on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th for a three game series against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
