On Thursday, May 12th, the Oakland Athletics defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-3. Athletics Outfielder #15 Seth Brown hit a two-run home run in the 8th inning to give Oakland the lead for good. #33 A.J. Puk earned the win for Oakland, and #32 Michael Fulmer was charged with the loss for Detroit. #56 Dany Jimenez picked up his sixth save of the season for the Athletics. The A's won three out of four games against the Tigers during their weekday series at Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers are currently in 5th place in the AL Central standings with an overall record of 13-23. The Tigers are riding a four game winning streak. The Oakland Athletics are currently in 5th place in the AL West standings with an overall record of 15-23. The A's are riding a three game losing streak.
